As a Senior Construction Planner & Scheduler, you’ll perform more complex aspects of planning and scheduling activities; performing project schedule/planning functions in a client-facing capacity in the areas of project schedule development, project schedule oversight, schedule forecasting, schedule maintenance, critical path analysis, reporting, obtaining schedule updates, and update verification/validation.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains, an integrated plan and schedule to meet program and/or project requirements.
  • Produces metrics for plans and schedules for moderately complex projects, programs, and change activities across the lifecycle of a program.
  • Performs studies/analysis and planning efforts, within and/or across programs/projects.
  • Develops the Integrated Master Plan, schedule and supports change incorporation plans related to integrated scheduling products.
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in creating short-term schedules and monitoring these schedules.
  • Performs integration of program plans and schedules, horizontally and vertically, across with project stakeholders.
  • Identifies, analyzes and reports performance variances to management. Evaluate construction progress and provide regular schedule updates and schedule narratives.
  • Works with project stakeholders to develop performance recovery plans and incorporates recovery plans where appropriate.
  • Provides training and mentoring to lower level employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise direct-reporting personnel
  • Administration of succession plans and performance reviews
  • Preparation of job description, roles & responsibilities for staff
  • Provides training and mentoring to lower-level employees.

This Position May Supervise:

  • Project Coordinator(s)
  • Engineering Co-Op Student
  • Project Scheduler/Planner(s)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Planning and/or Scheduling Projects
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written
  • Must be eligible for Reliability or Secret CISD Clearance
  • You have a construction-related degree/diploma
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others as a team
  • Bilingual in French and English is a strong asset
  • PMI Schedule Practitioner (PMI-SP) certification and-or Project Management Professional (PMP)certification is considered an asset
